PPD global-PPD Global delivers green impact with investments in solar panels

PPD Global’s investments in solar panels are generating real impact, cutting nearly 200 tonnes of carbon dioxide emissions across its operations in Cyprus and Romania over the past 18 months.

Two years ago, PPD Global began updating the infrastructure of its facilities to diversify the power supply and reduce CO2 emissions. The installation of the solar panels is a key part in our sustainability strategy of decreasing the carbon footprint and using renewable energy in our daily operations.

Cyprus Headquarters

The modern 99 kWp solar energy system installed on the office roof has completed its first year of operation.

During its first 12 months, the installation achieved the following:

  • Reduced operational carbon emissions by 51 tonnes.
  • Reached an environmental impact equivalent to planting more than 1,000 trees.

Romania Warehouse

In Romania, photovoltaic panels were installed at our warehouse facility to cover a significant portion of the site’s energy demands.

Over the past 18 months of operation, the system has:

  • Generated 573 MWh of green energy, equivalent to the continuous power needs of a standard home for 150 years.
  • Prevented 140 tonnes of CO2 emissions from entering the atmosphere.

Looking Ahead

Investing in solar power allows us to lower our overall environmental footprint while building energy independence.

These installations in Cyprus and Romania represent concrete steps toward our long-term carbon reduction goals, and we will continue evaluating opportunities to implement clean energy solutions across our operations.
