PPD global-Kyperounda Winery receives important international distinction

We’re incredibly honored to announce that Kyperounda Winery received an important international distinction from the world’s leading wine magazine “Decanter”.

The EPOS red wine 2020 stood out in the Year Panel Tasting of “Decanter” wine magazine, along with 112 other wines from 29 countries, eliciting reviews for its unique taste characteristics and its Mediterranean aroma.

In the January 2024 issue, EPOS red wine 2020 is the only wine from Cyprus included in the wines of the year for 2023, after being nominated by the Master of Wine Caroline Gilby.

The reviews it has collected describe a wine with a sweet botanical dimension, aromas of Mediterranean scrub, notes of rosemary, laurel and almost lemony. It is pleasant, although the oak aromas are present, and with good duration in the after taste.

These are the words Master of Wine Caroline Gilby used to describe the EPOS red wine 2020: It smells more of place than a grape. Mediterranean shrub sweet herb florals. Rosemary, bay, almost lemony. Fresh and inky, dark and bright. Joyful, though the oak reins it in. Nice grip on the finish. Interesting take on an Aussie classic blend.

This distinction undoubtedly contributes to the establishment of Kyperounda Winery as one of the most important wineries of the Cypriot vineyard, not only in Cyprus but also abroad. Over the years, the wines of the Kyperounda Winery have received international and domestic distinctions and are part of the list of well-known award-winning restaurants abroad.
